it was really quite difficult to get a good curving line for the circles. the next trick now is to sand the depressions that i've cut into the logs, and drop the mirror circles into the depressions in such a way that they fit snuggly.
i really enjoy these logs as a grouping. there's 4 here but i've since added another two in order to reinforce a feeling of a forest. you can see the larger logs reflected in the smaller ones which i like.
the smaller branches have been cut up and i'm trying to decide how best to deal with these.
my intention at this stage is still to sink mirrors into the exposed cuts and then to bind several segments together with rope. i'm not sold on the binding idea yet, i'm not sure what is compelling me to bind them together, and whether there is something that can be implied from that composition. best thing to do is follow the instinct and see how it turns out.
